  well i am new to this, and i must admit that at first i was very opposed to this site.

  i grew up being a witness and was warned about looking into apostate things, which is exactly what this site would be that they are referring to.

  i always tried to live my life the best that i could under the societys control, and never really got to have any life experiance at all.

  What a STUPID morning on the ministry!

  tim here.. ok... so... let me tell you about this morning and the utter stupidity of the brothers!.

  just to give you a bit of background info, for those who dont know, i am a gay, 23 year old jw and im seriously heading out of the borg!

  Walkill Bethel Recreational Facility

  my wife and i just visited some friends over the weekend from another congregation.

  these two are both full time pioneers, and also participate in various construction projects around the country.

  the husband just got back from a 3 week trip to walkill, new york to help with construction on a new residence building at 'the farm' (does anyone call it that anymore?)..

  The classic features of a JW wedding are:

  firstly a wedding/sales talk that mostly features heavily on how the woman should behave (hint, doormat) and lightly brushes over the fact of the husbands bevhaviour ( oh yeah he should treat her well).

  the reception normaly at some crummy comunity hall with yellowed ceilings and chucks of damp plaster falling off the walls.

  the seats normaly arranged facing eachother all around the edge, so that theres a huge unused space in the middle and everyone is climbing over everyone elses legs to get to their chair.. a big spread donated by everyone, normaly an ode to food poisoning.

  I had to fight to have a classic song played. Stupid talk on how the wife is now owned by the husband. I like the elder that married us but h had to follow the outline. No alcohol and we spent 2,000$ and had 200 people so you guess how good the food was.

  Went to a JW wedding last summer and it was nice. Not in the KH the only thing that was bad was the talk, and the fact that he was 18 she was 21 and just needed to have se# not get married

  New Disfellowshipping Policy?

  i heard the policy on disfellowshipping has changed, so that you cannot be disfellowshipped if you're not currently "fellowshipping".

  does this apply if you're baptised, but haven't associated for over a decade and then choose to speak out in the media (specifically tv) in a way that the watchtower society would consider to be apostasy e.g.

  questioning the society's function and/or the very existence of a creator?.

  changed my life- for the good- I believe Ray and his wife are top notch people that know what love is! It got rid of that "what is the JW's are right feeling" now learning to love and live. enjoy

  State your "epiphany moment " for leaving the WT

  i have found some powerful reinforcements when people have stated their " epiphany moment "... please share some.. my turning pointing began when i was badly hurt by a person i had always viewed as a literal brother.

  i realized that if his.

  love was conditional.... if it was the case with him , then how about those i had less affection for and trust in ?.

  oh lots of different eye openings... 1st a married elder hit on me and I felt like elders were next to God so I let him do as he pleased. I was in a bad marriage and was lonely and he took advantage of me, and I didn't flinch. I finally put my foot down. I ended my bad marriage and the complete lack of love from the congregation blew me away but at that time I felt I deserved being treated badly. I moved in with my Brother and SIL with 2 boys and had my 2nd epiphany. They were SO INTO JW and at that time in my life I needed space. They lectured me constantly and they had the BS in there home and there 3 year old son was wispering. My brother brought him to his room and put hot sauce in his mouth. At that second I thought I don't want to be like you! I will make my own decissions and I don't care if you agree. I left and spent 3 months in the ghetoes of NC. Prostitute next door drug dealer below me, illegals all over and felt safe. I decided to take 2 weeks off from meedings but never went back. I started to THINK. My brother is hopes to save me gave EVERYONE my cell phone number and elders and other brothers and sisters that havent spoken to me in years started to call and encourage me. One elder was giving me "encouragement" and I stopped him and said "I can't listen to this I have had so many opinions about what I should do with my life and I need to listen to ME" He seemed put off but i stopped answering my phone and told my brother if he gives it out again I will have the number changed and will not give it to you. Oh and my SIL was calling 8 10 times a day to ask how the meeding was or anything to see how I was "spiratualy" I stopped answering her calls too....

  this is too long sorry my bigest was 1/2 way through COC I looked up at my NON JW great hubby and just said "they are wrong"

  Have You Ever Experienced Depression?

  my mom does and has every ailment under the sun.. i know more people that are under meds for depression than not.. fortunately, i do not suffer from depression but i wonder how many do or have, especially if you were a witness..

  I know I may get depressed again. If I do I will take control and take meds. I fear the freedom joy I have may go away and reality is like any other sickness depression can not always be stopped. Exercise helps me but in all reality any of you out there that have this sickness. IT IS NOT YOUR FAULT! it is stupid chemicals in your brain and you may just need some meds... or marijuana... whatever it takes! NOT A WEAKNESS IN YOU! and Satan didn't give it to you because you left.

  i knew of one poor person charleen moss (roy baty's sister) who did it seven times.

  My Dad got reproved at least 5 times that I know of before they Df'ed him and he woke up to the truth of the truth and also stoped driving drunk... so i almost wish they Df'ed him the 1st time... I now don't understand how anyone Df could go back
